Prior to joining PASSCO Companies, LLC., Mr. Smith was with GMS Realty LLC as the Vice President of their Asset Management Group. During his five years at GMS, Mr. Smith played a lead role as part of the executive team in acquiring, managing, leasing, financing and re-developing a 6.5 million square foot portfolio of 42 retail shopping centers in the Western U.S. valued in excess of $500 million. 

Prior to GMS, Mr. Smith spent three years as Vice President / Asset Manager in the Los Angeles office of AEW Capital Management. In this role, he was responsible for asset management, leasing, re-positioning and sale assignments for over 3 million square feet of commercial office, industrial and retail assets located throughout California.

Mr. Smith began his career with MassMutual Life Insurance Company where he worked in both their corporate and Los Angeles regional offices in various roles including commercial real estate acquisitions, workouts, asset management, strategic planning and information systems development.

Mr. Smith holds a BS in Business Administration from Western New England College. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).  He is a recipient of the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from IREM.
